TAA members,

Glad to report that the Water Project has finally been fruitfully completed and attached are letters of appreciation from the school authorities. Also attached are photos of the day’s proceedings with four Thekwane Alumni Association members: Horace Ndubiwa and Vusumuzi Ndlovu (Bulawayo TAA) and Abiathar Mujeyi, and Joshua Nyoni (Harare TAA)

Below is a summary of the proceedings from J Nyoni:

The Prize Giving and Commissioning of several projects was preceded by a short congregation of parents students staff and guests in the Beit Hall. After introductions of the visiting delegation of the church hierarchy led by the Current Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe , Rev Dr Solomon Zwana the procession went to the commissioning of three projects-viz,

1. The pipeline co-sponsored by the School Development Committee and Thekwane Alumni Association,
2. The staff house sponsored by the School Development Committee
3. The new School Lorry facilitated by a loan from a local bank being repaid by the School Development Committee funds.

Thereafter there was the procession of staff and guests to the quadrangle inside the secondary school block followed by speeches from the school authorities and the guest of honour Rev Dr Zwana. The authorities and the head boy all poured great praise to the work, contribution and relationship they have with TAA. We were also given an opportunity to say something at which we did implore all stude ts especially the leavers not to forget whence they came from ! Unfortunately we left after 2.15 just before the prize giving commenced. It was a beautiful and memorable occasion. We also took the opportunity to take a look at the painting progress.

Once more many thanks to Abiathar and Joshua for being there for us

Regards,
