TAA-2006 mission is to “keep Thekwane alive and vibrant”. All of the alumni recognize the outstanding education they received from Thekwane. Thekwane has provided value and leadership to Zimbabwe, and even our world. The tradition of excellence, and the mystique that is Thekwane is, is what our alumni association in all is about. We are creating and nurturing a lifelong reciprocal relationship between Thekwane and its students, teachers past and present. The Association’s mission is to provide resources to Thekwane so that it can continue to offer extraordinary education experience. The key piece to this vision is you, the alumni. Your support of our association, both monetarily and with your time, will ensure an ever brightening future for our alma mater.

Founded in September 2006, the Thekwane Alumni Association is one of the new school alumni associations in Zimbabwe and the official organization represents interests and community which comprise the alumni from the “famous” Thekwane High School. The criteria to be considered as Thekwane High alum is determined by official registration and enrollment in the school. Graduation is not a requirement to be considered alum.

TAA is an Alumni Association established to promote interchange among Thekwani graduates and between graduates and current students. The Society also disseminates important Thekwane news and events through Association newsletters and publications. Founded in 2006, TAA-2006 now boasts a sizable membership of graduates who receive bi-annual updates through our TAA NEWS newsletter. Registration is free and open to any current students/teachers and graduates who wish to take advantage of this important resource.

TAA enlists and promotes the participation and support of many individuals and groups in order to fulfill its educational mission. These include our more than 100 alumni and their families, corporate partners, and numerous news media associations; these groups all play a vital role in our success, providing important resources, guidance, and recognition that ensures TAA’s continued success and tremendous growth

The mission of the Alumni Society is to:

  • Stimulate and promote membership interest in Thekwane High School
  • Provide organized and on-going means of attracting outstanding students to Thekwane High School
  • Heighten membership to awareness of the problems and progress of the School, so that members are better able to assist in advancing the programme of education
  • Cooperate with the School officials to meet needs for support from public and private sources
  • Increase communication and fellowship among former and current students/teachers

The Association responsibilities include the following:
  • Annual Alumni day (AGM)
  • Alumni Communications (Website and Newsletter)
  • Participation in school events

The Association has two aims: to raise funds for an extensive series of Thekwani projects and to develop and enhance the School’s relations with its alumni and friends worldwide. Our web pages contain current information on each of our fundraising campaigns as well as details of our success stories, together with details of how you can keep in touch with the School and your former classmates.
